Chronic Pain

A post by Blanche Scharf http://www.yourhealthupdates.com

I have been studying natural healing modalities for the last 25 years. In that time I have had the privilege of working with some of the greatest minds in Natural Healing including Naturopaths, Scientists, and Energy Healers. I have seen people miraculously heal from all kinds of dis-ease thru non-invasive methods. Personally, I have experienced all kinds of diets from Macrobiotics to Raw Foods. Now is a very important time to start sharing this health information with as many people as possible, so people can make well informed decisions about their health and not fall victim to a sickcare system based on profit, rather than one of supporting wholeness, compassion and love

Chronic pain exacerbates fatigue, anxiety, and depression. Also, it has the ability to block any opportunity for joy, and ensures that you have a limited range of motion. It is an impassable roadblock to meeting challenges with energy and eagerness. The loss in time spent dealing with the discomfort; not counting the lost sleep makes this problem unlike many others. The mechanism of pain is not fully understood, sure you feel it, but where is it coming from.

People who with chronic pain try sometimes an endless array of surgeries, medications, and various other treatments without always receiving  relief.  Pain affects the quality of life.  Chronic pain is usually thought of as a condition that lasts longer than six months. It is understandable that chronic pain is a challenging condition, since it is tied to many different disorders. These range from orthopedic problems, arthritis, injury, neuromuscular, headaches, back problems, and a host of illness related problems.

Chronic Pain programs include everything from physical rehabilitation, physical therapy such as aquatics, occupation therapy, biofeedback, psychological treatment. These are some of the main treatments offered at allopathic facilities. Alternative treatments may include acupuncture, chiropractic, and guided imagery, glucosamine for joint pain, meditation, yoga, hypnosis, and nutrition.

Lower levels of vitamin D in the body are associated with higher levels of pain. Omega-3 fatty acid is used for its anti-inflammatory properties. One nutritional supplement that has been receiving much attention is MSM (methyl sulfonylurea methane). MSM, which can be found in fresh fruits and vegetables, milk, fish, and grains, is destroyed when foods are processed; if your diet is made up of a lot of processed foods, you may be low in MSM levels.

If you are low in the nutrients your body needs to perform well, your pain will simply not resolve without addressing these issues. Vitamin B1, B6, and B12; zinc; and antioxidants are essential for healing nerve pain. Muscle pain, responds to magnesium, B vitamins, antioxidants, zinc, iodine, selenium and malic acid. This makes perfect sense, since a lot of chronic conditions are coming from a lack of certain nutrients. Nutrition is the building block of our body, and all of its functions are dependent on it.
