Exercise

I have been studying natural healing modalities for the last 25 years. In that time I have had the privilege of working with some of the greatest minds in Natural Healing including Naturopaths, Scientists, and Energy Healers. I have seen people miraculously heal from all kinds of dis-ease thru non-invasive methods. Personally, I have experienced all kinds of diets from Macrobiotics to Raw Foods. Now is a very important time to start sharing this health information with as many people as possible, so people can make well informed decisions about their health and not fall victim to a sickcare system based on profit, rather than one of supporting wholeness, compassion and love

Is the gym oversold in America, the jury is out. It is known that moderate exercise can boost mood, reduce the risk of diabetes, and certain cancers. Also it may help with osteoporosis. What we are seeing are people who are out of condition, trying to be active. Activity produces results, and it is ridiculous to think that people have to be told to get up off the couch and go for a walk.

If we were in the habit of being active, a lot of our needs would be covered. The mentality that the gym is the only way to stay healthy is how we wind up out of shape. This seems to produce an all or nothing approach. People think of exercise as separate from activity. Being active is what the emphasis should be on. Hard core exercise is for those that both excel at it and enjoy the workout.

Structured exercise at one time would have been a strange concept. People were employed in manual labor, be it on a farm or lifting and hauling on a job. Without television and computers, people spent time outdoors. It is not so much that structured gym activity is not good; it is that it is being promoted as the panacea for many health ailments. While at the same time most of the populations do not frequent the facility.

Exercise is good, but it should not be an all or nothing mentality. To get out of exercise by finding gyms too expensive, inconvenient, and boring, does not mean that use it or lose it doesn’t apply. This is not a get out of jail card. There are times people join gyms for short term goals, such as getting into a wedding dress. Once they achieve their goal they are done with the activity. Fitness is the game, improving health is the outcome. A fit lifestyle is an active one.

Exercise is a quality of life booster. Activity is actually exercise, and a sure way to tone and maintain weight. Contributing to the healthcare crises is this notion that exercise is a separate commodity. You either have to do it at some location, when it really is getting back to basics. Movement is as basic as eating. This is something you do for yourself, and it is never too late to start. Exercise and activity should not be a here and there occurrence.

This is not always about becoming muscular, or soaked-in-sweat, it is about flexibility, energy, and health. Illness is becoming to close for comfort. How we perform everyday is going to be the marker of our overall condition. There is no replacement for movement; you can’t get it from pharmaceuticals yet. Activity is exhilarating, power producing and simple to do. The only thing easier is putting it off till tomorrow, and that can become expensive
