Pomegranate Protection

Pomegranate protection means that your diet matters. The power of pomegranate is in what it does, preventing or reversing atherosclerosis or hardening of the arteries.  Human and animal studies show that pomegranate juice reduces oxidative stress, low-density lipoproterin (LDL) aggregation and oxidation, and reduces the platelet clumping that is associated with arteriosclerosis. By slowing the clumping it stops clots from forming, it  works like aspirin, without the side effects. It also lowers the systolic blood pressure reading.

Pomegranate Power

Part of the power of pomegranate juice is its antioxidant properties. The antioxidant level is 3X more than found in green tea, red wine, blueberries, cranberries and oranges. Antioxidants help guard the body against premature aging, heart disease, alzheimer’s, and cancer. Pomegranate is good for inflammatory conditions. It is used in other parts of the world to keep the look of youth with clear and glowing skin. Pomegranate also supplies you with vitamin C, fiber, and Potassium.

Pomegranate juice seems to destroy cancer cells, while protecting healthy cells. It seems to work on breast cancer cells, and prostrate cancer. There is research that shows consumption of pomegranate juice may protect the neonatal brain from damage due to injury. It improves the amount of oxygen to the heart muscle of people suffering from coronary heart disease. Research has found that eight ounces daily of pomegranate juice improved the amount of oxygen getting to the heart muscle of patients with coronary heart disease (American Journal of the college of Cardiology, (Sept. 2005).  There is some research that long-term consumption of pomegranate juice may help combat erectile dysfunction (Journal of Urology, July 2005). This should not be a surprise because erectile dysfunction is often due to atherosclerosis, and/or blood pressure medication

Research

Research shows that there is a possibility that pomegranate compounds might prevent prostrate cancer or slow its growth. The same holds true for breast cancer, it causes breast cancer cells to self-destruct. Scientists have found inflammation is reduced, and this may help in arthritis. Now we really do not need more studies, what we need is more people using these super foods.

The unique properties are; antioxidant polyphenols, ascorbic, citric, fumaic, and malic acids, essential amino acids, vitamins B and C. One pomegranate has about 40 percent of the recommended daily vitamin C. It also has some vitamin A and E. The power of pomegranate comes from the power of nature. All the laboratories in the world are not going to come up with more beneficial forms of the substances found in fruits and vegetables.

Viagra May Cause Hearing loss

Viagra may cause hearing loss. Research by a University of Alabama at Birmington (UBA) professor shows an association between hearing loss and the use of the erectile dysfunction drug Viagra.

Research Studies

The research found a potential for long-term hearing loss following the use of Viagra and possibly following use of other phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitions (PDE-5i) drugs such as Cialis and Levitra.

In 2007, following several case studies potentially linking PDE-5i use and sudden hearing loss, the Food and Drug Administrated announced labeling changes for PDE-5i medications so that the risk of hearing problems was more prominently displayed, McGwin said this is the first epidemiological study to evaluate the relationship between PDE-5i drugs and long-term hearing loss.

The data on 11,525 men over 40 years of age gathered by the Medical Expenditure Panel Survey, a survey conducted by the federal agency for Healthcare Research and Quality between 2003 and 2006. Men who reported use of PDE-5i medications were twice as likely to also report hearing loss as men who had not used the drugs.

You Can Say

You can say that Viagra is not for everyone. The growing evidence suggests it’s not for anyone. At least 38 men have gone blind after taking Viagra. Drug companies already warn consumers that Viagra and competitors like Levtira and Cialis have several other side effects, like blurred vision, headaches, indigestion, and painful erections that last four hours or more.

Viagra can decrease blood flow to the optic nerve of the eye, causing sudden vision loss. This has occurred in a limited number of people, most of whom had heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or pre-existing eye conditions. Also, people who smoke or are over 50 years old experienced these problems.

Need it now

Millions of men need it now, thanks to our lifestyles. There is a connection that links impotency to health status. There are multiple conditions that cause erectile dysfunction. One is hardening of the arteries, which causes a reduced blood flow to different parts of the body.

Medication especially for high blood pressure is many times the pill behind the pill. The drugs for high blood pressure are known to cause impotency.

Recognizing the cause is a step in the right direction. One little blue pill is not for all, and there is growing concern that it can change more than a chance to perform.

The special effect that you want may be more than you want. Viagra may have a similar effect on similar tissue in the ear, where an increase in blood flow could potentially cause damage that can lead to a hearing loss. It is necessary to question the use of Viagra, since the largely irreversible hearing loss will impact the quality of life.

Viagra is America’s Answer to Sexual Function

Viagra is America’s answer to sexual function, and it is not the right one. Another pill for another problem that is preventable through lifestyle changes. The primary cause of impotence is physical. Many times it is the first sigh of an underlying medical condition. About 60% of adult-onset diabetes is found because this symptom is the first clue.

Causes

The major causes are all the chronic conditions that are at the center of our healthcare crises. With the alarming rates of Diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol this is going to be a major complaint. All these conditions contribute to this condition. The arteries usually have blockages that slow the blood supply that is needed.

In oriental diagnosis this is a sign of blockage in the arteries. In 80% of the men it is an underlying physical problem that causes impotence.

Lifestyle Factors

Just as lifestyle influences all aspects of your health, it also is a contributing factor to this condition. This includes smoking, excessive alcohol, drugs both illicit and prescriptive, obesity and lack of exercise. Exercise is also said to improve testosterone production, which improves sexual functioning.

Medication

Antidepressants, anti-psychotics, tranquilizers, blood pressure drugs, appetite suppressants, antihistamines, and beta blockers for controlling angina and high blood pressure contribute to this condition. Some are the primary cause of Erectile Dysfunction.

Oral Pills for Sexual Dysfunction

These pills be it Viagra, Cialis or Levitra are part of a much larger problem. This is a metaphor for a larger problem that is compounded and expressed in every avenue of our health. Dysfunction of any systems means that the body is impaired. There are other disorders that sharply increase disease risks.

Summary

Optimized health prevents breakdowns in functions. Sexual vigor is tied to overall health. Aging is not going to explain the prevalence of lost libido and impotency. Controlling glucose, keeping blood pressure in check, weight management, and a good diet, getting enough sleep, and remaining active are what should be prescribed.

There are complementary treatments that offer benefits, but to rely on a pill for mechanical action, and not address the underlying problems is malpractice. Saw Palmetto berry has been shown to lower the incidence of sexual dysfunction in men treated for benign prostate enlargement (BPH).

An article published online in the Journal of Sexual Medicine states that research conducted at the University of Rome found that it may be necessary to reduce homocysteine before treating erectile dysfunction (ED). There is an association of this condition with vascular disease, and both of these conditions are caused primarily by the factors that affect the coronary arteries.

Giving a pill for short term action when it is linked to insufficient blood flow, and not address the real issues, the benefits will be short lived. Restoring health and vascular function that contribute to this is important. This is a system-wide problem that triggers a cascade of events. One of them happens to be Erectile Dysfunction
