Rosacea Management

Rosacea management is the first line of defense and also an offense.

Rosacea pH Problem

Rosacea is in part a pH problem. Most foods that have a high pH are ones naturally filled with an abundance of enzymes that promote good health. These super charged foods prevent infections, from parasites, bacteria, and Candida. All these have been implicated in this condition.

The stronger ones are the most likely to produce this condition. When a patient is treated for a long period steroid atrophy sets in where there is a noticeable thinning of the skin. Inflammation ensues and the complexion becomes darker red with copper coloring.

The surface becomes studded with nodules and papule. This condition is avoidable by not using steroids or cortisone as a treatment.

Adrenaline Flushing         

Adrenaline flushing is type of vascular dilation. This is caused by an adrenaline rush, which is a large supply of adrenaline when a person is under stress. It is a hormone released by the body when there is a perceived threat. Body heat causes vascular dilation which produces flushing in most people. Women’s hormonal fluctuations influence the inflammatory response.

Inflammation

If it is part an inflammatory response, the typical western diet contains a large amount of poor quality omega-6 and too little omega-3 fatty acids. Rosacea is in part the results of an overly acidic body and skin. Rosacea triggers come in large part from acidic foods, drinks, and stress. When a person holds their breath they will notice that their face turns red. This is caused by a build up of carbon dioxide an acid gas. Oxygen is alkaline, and we are not getting enough when we hold our breath. Heavy exercise will cause a red face also. That is from a build up of lactic acid.

A number of disorders with puzzling etiologies are now becoming part of our world. The number of people with rosacea is growing. It has become more common with cases popping up among all age groups. Aging adults make up a substantial portion of new cases. 

The question should be what is setting off this inflammatory condition. The culprits seem to be our pro-inflammatory diet, along with an acidic diet. By taking genetics out of the picture we can stop blaming and look for causes.

Our diet is one of the most acidic one on earth. Processed foods mean that the consumption of alkaline foods is at an all time low. Fruits, vegetables are alkaline; they are not consumed while eating a highly refined diet. Most refined food is acidic.

Conclusion

It is an underestimated condition, many people are in remission, or have symptoms that are not well defined. The National Rosacea Society (NRS) says that 16 million Americans suffer the signs and symptoms, of rosacea, and millions more may be in temporary remission.

Only the allopathic medical community thinks that being able to point a light on the condition is good. The holistic community thinks this is a reflection of our lifestyles. Fast food, stress, pharmaceuticals, and fake food will little or no nutritional value has made rosacea a common occurrence.
