Vaccine Response Research

Vaccine response research is now taking a look at dose related differences between men and women. Vaccine dose based on biological differences, could be a significant predictor of both reaction, and response.

Vaccines Capabilities

Vaccines capabilities are limited by many things. Vaccines don’t have  go-anywhere do- anything versatility and quality. The devil is in the details. Vaccines haven’t progressed to the point where they do anything more than bombard a person with a standard dosage. They are not precision dosages that depend on the size, sex, and condition of the recipient.

Should you care? Absolutely, we depend on both the reliability and the safety of the dosage. Technicalities matter from your view point. You don’t want to be flying  blindly, you can’t retract a shot, once it is given.

Vaccine Gender Problems

If you don’t see the problem, that’s a problem in itself. According to research at the John Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health responses to vaccines vary according to sex.

“Sex can affect the frequency and severity of adverse effects of vaccination including fever, pain and inflammation,” said Sabra Klein PhD, lead author of the review and an assistant professor at the Bloomberg School’s W. Harry Feinstone Department of Molecular Microbiology and Immunology. This is likely due to fact that women typically mount stronger immune responses to vaccinations compared to men. In some cases, women need substantially less of a vaccine to mount the same response as men. Pregnancy is also a factor that can alter immune responses to vaccines.”

Biological differences between the sexes could be a significant predictor of responses to vaccines, according to researchers at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. They examined published data from numerous adult and child vaccine trials and found that sex is a fundamental, but often overlooked predictor of vaccine response. The review is featured in the May 2010 issue of The Lancet Infectious Diseases.

Vaccine Age Related Issues

Vaccine age related issues are usually not understood by seniors. Studies have shown that flu shots are usually ineffective for the elderly population. Vaccines are introduced with all sorts of claims and no real studies to back them up.

In a review article in Lancet Infectious Diseases, research by Dr. Lisa Jackson, a senior investigator at the Group Health Center for Health Studies, says evidence that all older people should get flu vaccines in weak.

If the flu shot doesn’t boosts immunity in the elderly it isn’t a solution, or a breakthrough in flu protection. The shots are not free of preservatives, solvents and reflect a challenge to an impaired immune system.

Experts

If the experts you depend on don’t have a clue, the ultimate choice to get vaccinated or not is yours. There are many reasons for questioning vaccines efficiency and safety record. Mass media campaigns may not tell the whole story. The claims are many times outright false.

Vaccines are a Shot in the Dark

Vaccines

Vaccines are a shot in the dark for everyone. The battle cry of the Center for Disease Control (CDC) is vaccinate the entire population. They have no real idea why the vast majority of adults are not taking advantage of all the preventative vaccines.

One reason they hypothesized is that these vaccines are expensive, and are not always covered by insurance. Next in the line of reasoning is that enough adults have not heard about the disease, or the vaccines. I personally like to think that the population considers vaccines a shot in the dark, with unforeseen consequences.

I am hoping that most adults do their research, or wait until the verdict is in. I would think by now everyone would be gun-shy after all the recalls and harm done both by vaccines, and prescriptions in general. The fear mongrels that are called names like the CDC, FDA, and Pharmaceuticals Spokespersons, have to fear a backlash eventually. It is probably too much to ask for considering that they have conditioned the public that the way to health is in their prescriptions.

Vaccine Figures

Let the figures speak for themselves, only about 2 percent of Americans 60 and older received a vaccine against shingles in its first year of sales.  About 2 percent of adults ages 18 to 64 got a booster shot against whooping cough. Good news, the booster was added to another shot recommended for adults, a combination booster against tetanus and diphtheria. Just about 10 percent of women 18-26 have received at least one dose of a three-shot series that protects against the human papillomavirus.

The old standbys are doing better, but not good enough for the CDC. Only 69 percent of seniors get the flu shoot and 66 percent have had a one-time pneumonia vaccine. Also, 44 percent had a tetanus shot in the past 10 years. These figures may be telling a different story. People are thinking about risk vs. at best partial protection. I think they are skeptical about claims made by the drug companies throughout the years. Things have not panned out as revealed by studies on past recommendations, such as hormone replacement. The Gulf War Veterans may be suffering from neurological disorders that make their vaccinations suspect.

Vaccine Risks

It is important to be aware of the risks involved, especially when you repeatedly assault your body with a whole barrage of foreign matter. Studies have revealed that the flu shot can increase your risk of developing a debilitating neurological disorder known as Guillain-Barre syndrome. Now remember this vaccine is approved for infants 6 months of age. There has been a lot of discussion about whether the flu vaccine is really effective in preventing the flu. The strain of the flu in the vaccine may not be even related to the newest variation that will be making the rounds. I call this a shot in the dark.

Parents whose infants received the rotavirus vaccine were told by the FDA to be alert for signs of gastrointestinal side effects in their babies. The infants in question experienced symptoms of intussusception, a potentially life-threatening illness caused when one section of intestines collapses into another. The intestines become twisted or blocked and there may be symptoms such as stomach pain, fever, diarrhea and blood.

Of course the FDA is not certain how many of the 28 babies became ill as a result of the vaccine because this can occur spontaneously. In half the children intussusceptions symptoms began 1 to 21 days after receiving the vaccine. Sixteen of the babies were hospitalized and underwent surgery to repair their intestines.

The usual age to administrate the new oral one is 2 months, 4 months, and 6 months. An earlier rotavirus vaccine (RotaShield) was removed from the market in 1999 because it was linked to an increased risk of the disorder. The FDA made a brilliant statement, saying it is important to determine if the new vaccine also increased the risk of the disorder, and to what degree in your baby. They protect your infant by studying the possible averse effect after they give the concoction to them.

Profit Motive

I do not think you have to be a rocket scientist to realize that you are at best a pin cushion to experiment on. At worst a way for the Pharmaceutical companies to ensure huge profits by scaring you into submission. If that does not work they can and have already rounded up parents by threats to vaccinate their children. Mike Adams of News Target calls it gunpoint medicine. There is no wonder that Americans are gun-shy of vaccines, and believe that vaccines are a shot in the dark aimed at profits.
