Overeating Triggers and Dangers
Finding the overeating triggers and dangers in our culture is simple. All you have to do is follow the advertising and obesity rates. The food industry represents a threat that is as big as any to our society. The reason; there is no place to hide from either the advertisements, or the available supply. They know the pathway to desire. Their campaigns are hardcore. They build it and see that you use it. They know most people will surrender to desire.
Dangers
It has been found that overeating in mice triggers a molecule that destroys metabolism. This also leads to resistance and sets the stage for type 2 diabetes.
This is a new study, by researchers at the Harvard School of Public Health (HSPH) that links together the immune system and metabolism. These are paired together as suspect in increasing diseases from diabetes, heart disease, fatty liver, cancer and stroke.
Science
“When mice eat a normal diet, this molecule called PKR is silent,” states senior author Gokhan Hotamisligil, chair of the HSPH department of Genetics and Complex Disease. “However, if a cell containing PKR is bombarded with too many nutrients, PKR grabs other immune system molecules that respond to this food attack and organizes a firing squad to shoot down normal processes, leading to insulin resistance and metabolic dysfunction.”
“We know that nutrients can be detrimental in excess quantities or when they are in the wrong place at the wrong time,” Hotamisligil said. “But we don’t quite understand which paths they travel that result in harm and produce inflammation. PKU is a mechanism by which nutrients-necessary and beneficial under normal conditions-cause damage to cells and organs.”
PKR stands for Protein Knase R. Protein Knases have a profound effect on cells.
Protein Kinases are key regulators of cell function that constitute one of the largest and most functionally diverse gene families. They orchestrate the activity of almost all cellular processes.
The results provide compelling evidence that a process called “metaflammation” occurs in the body, stated Hotamisligil. Metaflammation is inflammation that occurs while the body processes food into energy. Hotamisligi had demonstrated inflammation role in metabolic diseases such as type 2 diabetes, and heart disease in mice and humans.
Metaflammation describes ailments resulting from an unhealthy lifestyle. The two main causes are a lack of nutrition and a lack of exercise. Overeating is a way to use and deplete nutrients.
Reality
Researches are looking to understand how to regulate the PKR molecule through targeted drugs or nutrients. They think this could be the way diseases are prevented and treated in humans. We build, than battle what we build. Having build up a surreal supply of faux foods, we now have to subdue its effect on us.
We are not doomed to a roller coster existence. This is one where we produce new foods and then need drugs to modify the effect. We are at a crossroad in scientific thinking. We are spawning a dangerous trend; lifestyles that depend on technology may be in for some eye-opening surprise.
Conclusion
The causes of many of the diseases appear to lie in aspects of our modern technology driven environment. This is the red light district, where there is real danger of picking up a life threatening illness.

The Best Diet for You
Which is the best diet for you? There are so many diets that are being touted, slogging through them will be labor intense. Food ideas seem to have religious undertones. The believers in each food system are sometimes overzealous.
Pitch
Food is not food anymore it is a philosophy. A critical review of each way of eating shows they all get results. They seem to be effective and explain their philosophy with clarity. They spreads by word of mouth. People adhering to the eating plan tout the benefits.
The pitch can be strident, and in your face. These are generic plans that at best work because of the adulterated foods that you have given up.
Types
They range from the fruitarian diet, vegetarian diet, low carbohydrate diet, macrobiotic, and high protein.
The reality is they all work to some degree, because of what you are giving up.
Fruitarian
This is not a diet that everyone should blindly embrace. On this diet you have to be alert to see the down side. This is a high sugar diet, even thought it is in a natural form. It supplys vitamins and minerals, but it is high in fructose. For many people it has some critical nutritional elements missing.
What happens many people get caught up in trust and theater; they do not employ deep and critical thinking when embarking on this way of eating. It without a doubt can set some people up for problems in the long haul.
Yes, many people seem to do well at the beginning, what happens is that health issues appear later that don’t always attribute to the diet.
Vegetarian Diet
This can be a good diet for some, and others can’t figure out how to do a really good version. So vegetarian diets can become either a high end or low end junk food diet. In the vegetarian diet there is a lot of latitude, and pre-packaged food, which is high in sugar and sodium, can be a good part of the food supply.
Some of the best sources of iron, vitamins, and omega 3 fats come from grass fed animals. Everyone’s needs are different so it does matter when you leave out a food group.
Low Carb Diet
This has a lot going for it, but again you need to roll up your sleeves, and be prepared to figure out how to do it. Most of the today’s diets are too high in carbohydrates.
This is what matters where are your carbohydrates coming from. Vegetables are a good source, some whole grain works. Mankind started on a low carbohydrate diet and that is what our system is designed for. This diet includes some fruits. It is not neccesarily a high fat diet. Many people use low fat protein sources.
All the diets that work are a variation of cutting out the empty calories, and that means fabricated foods.
Macrobiotics
This is an unusual diet for most of the public, even thought it can be a healthy diet.
This diet is a high whole grain diet, with plenty of vegetables, including sea vegetables. What it has going for it is there are none of the standard pre-packaged foods that have become a staple in the American diet. People do eat animal protein in small amounts.
The draw back is that many people get so drawn in to the principal that they can overload on carbohydrates. This diet needs to be individualized to create a diet that works on a long term basis.
Individualized
Diets must suit lifestyles, genetic predisposition, and current health status.
Exercising Has Nothing to do with Time or Money
Exercising has nothing to do with time or money. What you want is to look for opportunities to use movement during the day as part of your normal routine. Simple movements will help you energize.
It is essential to provide your circulatory, lymphatic, and muscles with nutrients and oxygen, while eliminating waste. Exercise is like giving your body an immune shot. In studies moderate exercise helped ward off the flu.
You need to provide your body with the ingredients for it to meet the challenges and to get the most out of every day. Sustainable energy is needed so you don’t crash half way through the day.
Start slowly at the beginning and gradually increase activity by a few minutes each week.
No Caffeine or Sugar Needed
Beating the bulge and shaping up is not just for weight loss. It is mood enhancer, and insulin modulator. It’s a partner in health. The only side effect of mild to moderate activity is a renewed more vibrant life. There has never been a better way to quit caffeine or/and sugar than by working out.
Exercise is a strategic alliance that offers you the opportunity of supporting cardiovascular health while looking and feeling better.
New Year New You
Nobody ever questions that exercise will strengthen your muscles when done correctly. With all the health clubs, exercise programs, books and articles out there you would think that we would be a fit nation.
Are you looking for extra variety, low costs, and time efficient ways to exercise?
